This was the last day of our Japan trip! Our flight back to Singapore was at midnight so we had a full day to fill with whatever we liked. I personally had two things I wanted to do on this day: a) buy a whole lot more stationery, and b) try the hot baked apple drink at Starbucks 😛 (I know, I know, Starbucks is everywhere and all that but Starbucks in other places don’t have hot baked apple drinks and also hot baked apple drinks in winter at Christmas time was just something I had to do!). The rest of the gang also had a few last things they wanted to buy and shops they wanted to see, and so we decided to explore our local area around our hotel and have a look for things!
It’s time to say bye to Karuizawa and catch the train back to Tokyo!
Before we go, here’s the view from our window in Karuizawa:
We went back to the crazy outlet area near the train station before we left, and did a bit more shopping, and took a few more photos of our beautiful surroundings! Continue reading
Today we’re off to spend a couple of days in Karuizawa, a small town north of Tokyo, in the Nagano province! It is a WINTER WONDERLAND and I am VERY EXCITED.
First up, before we go, here’s a day time view from our hotel window in Tokyo!
Day Seven / 7th Dec
Let the shopping adventures begin!
We started the day with lunch in Tiong Bahru (I LOVE TIONG BAHRU 🙂 ) at a really cool cafe called Forty Hands! I hadn’t tried this one yet, but I’ve heard lots about it and it lived up to its reputation 🙂
Day Three / 3rd Dec
Oh boy, this was one crazy day! Today we faced the difficult task of moving out of my apartment and saying goodbye to my flatmates. I didn’t take many pictures of the day because it was all very mad, but I got to show Caleb and Becca my faves prata and watermelon juice for lunch which was delish!
The past week my Nana and Grandad have been visiting in Singapore! Despite it being a so called “hell week” at NUS (yes, that is an actual turn of phrase here, the assignments get that mad!), we managed to do SO MUCH STUFF together, so that was really really nice 🙂 It was so lovely to have them here, and to be able to show them around, and just to see them 🙂 ❤ Here’s what we got up to 🙂
Nana and Grandad got here Friday before last – I had a pretty crazy day of classes, but we met up for Pontien noodles for lunch which is one of the yummiest foods of all time! We skyped Mum and Dad too, as you can see 😉
Suzanne (my second mum 😛 ) has been doing some talks at NUS this week (I managed to sneak in for a bit which was exciting and interesting!) so yesterday we had a whole day to hang out yayyyyy! I had such a lovely day, and it was so nice to show somebody from home around my new places. We started the day in Chinatown, visited Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay and had steamboat for dinner along Orchard Rd! Here are some photos 🙂
Today Shao En (my lovely flatmate) and I have been adventurers.
After spending some time in your gloriously innumerable malls, I have two things in particular that I would like to thank you for.
