creative retreat // day one.

MY PALS. Sorry for doing a little disappearing act on ya πŸ˜‰ The past few months have been an intense mish mash of mostly a lot of blurry yuck stuff (but some good stuff happened too, and I’m gonna blog about the nice things soon!) – basically it is very hard to maintain a blog when depression and anxiety are all busy bothering you. The good news is, I am getting really good help now, and I’m on a course of anti-depressants which fiiiiinally (I hope? Fingers crossed and pretty please?) seem to be kicking in, and my lovely family, friends and boyfriend are supporting me through this. Things aren’t quite better yet, but I am hopeful that they are maybe starting to be a little bit better (I’m sitting here writing this blog, aren’t I!) and any steps are good steps! Continue reading

japan holiday day 8 / nearby wonders.

This was the last day of our Japan trip! Our flight back to Singapore was at midnight so we had a full day to fill with whatever we liked. I personally had two things I wanted to do on this day: a) buy a whole lot more stationery, and b) try the hot baked apple drink at Starbucks πŸ˜› (I know, I know, Starbucks is everywhere and all that but Starbucks in other places don’t have hot baked apple drinks and also hot baked apple drinks in winter at Christmas time was just something I had to do!). The rest of the gang also had a few last things they wanted to buy and shops they wanted to see, and so we decided to explore our local area around our hotel and have a look for things!

latest adventures in nature / art / my brain.

2016-11-15-22-07-39CLASSES ARE OVERRRR! I am now on study break, which is quite nice for me, since my exams are quite spread out and also late in the exam period, so I’ve been able to take a few days to rest and recuperate a little πŸ™‚ Actually everyone here is studying very madly – they had to open up more 24 hour study spaces because all of the existing ones were not enough! But! Rest is important too! Or so I am trying to keep in mind anyway πŸ˜‰ So, with that said, here are some relaxing activities I got up to in the past week πŸ™‚ Continue reading

On Saturday morning, Shao En and I went to ArtJam! This is an event that UTown Residence puts on every year. They gave usΒ a blank canvas at the door, and then there were these paint and painting supplies stations that you could go back and forth from to get things to paint with as you needed them! They even gave us snacks and drinks – there are so many amazing free events here!! It was so much fun, and such a relaxing way to start the weekend.

a whole bunch of new.

I have discovered a thing – doing something completely different is a rather effective antidote to perfectionism. Having no expectations on yourself is very freeing! Also, I feel like living overseas was such a big step that doing anything else is just a little hop away. Anything is possible! Hello world, you oyster! πŸ™‚

So brimming with confidence in doing wild and uncharacteristic things, I auditioned to be a radio host on NUS’ student radio, Radio Pulze, yesterday… aaaaaand I got in!! I’m going to have a radio show!!!! EEEP!
