japan holiday day 3 / ramen, busy streets and more ramen.

The running themes of today were looking at some crazy streets and eating a lot of noodles πŸ˜› We went out to Shibuya for food and shopping (the over-arching themes of the holiday πŸ˜‰ )!

Shibuya doesn’t even look real to me, it looks like a movie!!

FIRST STOP, RAMEN.

We went to this cool place where you order through this vending machine type of thing outside the restaurant. Once you’ve made your selection and paid, it prints out a little ticket for you, and then you take that inside and place it on the table, and they collect it and bring you noodles!

THAT EGG THO.

Then while the others went off to do some shopping, Glen and I went to an enormous Starbucks which gives you an amazing view of Shibuya Crossing, which is supposedly the busiest pedestrian crossing in the ENTIRE WORLD. We sat at the window for around an hour! Watching the people cross is strangely relaxing, and endlessly entertaining! We saw many interesting incidents, including somebody dressed up as Santa giving people candy or something, somebody dressed up as a horse (who seemed to know Santa and sometimes pulled him around on a suitcase?!), some people who ran out several times with an enormous flag, and a bus getting stuck in the middle of the crossing when the lights changed.

Here’s a video of the Shibuya Crossing from the Starbucks window, thanks to “sleazysea” on YouTube, so you can go take a look for yourself!Β https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGgfT4TG_k0

And here’s a snap of that bus getting stuck!

After dinner and hanging out back at the hotel for a while, we decided to go for supper at around 10.30pm! Time for more ramen!! There is a guy who has a little street stall right next to our hotel, that we have been walking past lots, so we decided to go try it out πŸ™‚

It’s so cool!

We ordered a bowl of ramen to start and 5 pieces of oden to share between Uncle Mel, Glen, Vera and I…. and ended up with 4 bowls of ramen and 15 pieces of oden because it was so good that we kept ordering more food! The guy who runs the stall was laughing at us, because we could have just ordered a bowl each right from the start hahaha! πŸ˜› It was very cold outside but the food was very warming and delicious πŸ™‚ Yum yum yum πŸ™‚

It was very exciting because when we got back I got some news from my friends that three of them are coming to visit me in a couple of weeks! I knew that Laura was coming, but Divya and Soly were a surprise! πŸ˜‰

Another tricky day with the anxiety, but with many great moments! And Glen has been so amazing with helping me through these tricky few days, good one that he isΒ πŸ™‚ ❀ Doing pretty okay and looking forward to more adventures! πŸ™‚
